Privacy

The short version

Your images stay on your device and in your own private iCloud. We don't run servers that store them. An image only leaves your device when you choose to run a read — and then only to produce that result. We never see your name, email, or Apple ID.

On your device and in your iCloud

The images you capture or import, along with your tool history (your past reads and fixes), are stored on your device and synced through your own private iCloud using Apple's iCloud framework. That data lives in your personal iCloud account, which Sightline cannot browse and which is not stored on our servers. It syncs across the devices signed into your iCloud so your history is with you everywhere.

When you run a read

To analyze a design, Sightline sends the specific image you're reading — over an encrypted connection — to our analysis service (hosted on Cloudflare), which passes it to our AI provider, Anthropic, whose Claude models generate that read or fix. The result is returned to you. Our service passes images through to produce your result; it does not store them. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, images submitted for processing are not used to train their models. We do not sell your images or share them for advertising. Because analysis happens in the cloud, running a read requires an internet connection.

No account, no identity

Sightline has no accounts, logins, or passwords. Instead, the app uses an anonymous identifier provided by iCloud to keep your history in sync and to count your monthly usage — which is why Sightline requires you to be signed into iCloud. This identifier is not your Apple ID, and it doesn't tell us who you are — we never receive your name, email address, or Apple ID, and we can't use it to contact or identify you.

Usage, limits, and subscriptions

Free plans include a set number of reads and fixes each month. To apply those limits fairly, our service keeps a running count of usage tied to the anonymous iCloud identifier described above. This is a count, not a record of your images or their contents. If you subscribe to Pro, we also store your subscription status against that same identifier, so the service knows your limits are lifted.

Payments

Sightline Pro is sold as an Apple App Store subscription. Apple handles the purchase and your payment details; what we receive is a signed receipt from Apple confirming whether a subscription is active. We never see your card, billing information, or Apple ID credentials.

What we don't collect

We don't collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, or location. Sightline uses no advertising identifiers, no third-party advertising, and no cross-app tracking.

Who we work with

Three companies help operate Sightline:

• Apple — iCloud storage and sync, and subscription payments. See Apple's privacy policy.
• Anthropic — AI analysis of the images you submit. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
• Cloudflare — hosts our analysis service and the database of usage counts. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

How long data is kept

We don't retain your images. Usage counts reset on their normal monthly cycle and exist only while tied to your use of Sightline; subscription status is kept while a subscription is active. History stored in your own iCloud stays until you delete it. Deleting the app removes the data stored locally on that device.

Security

Everything Sightline sends travels over encrypted connections, and history synced through iCloud is protected by Apple's security. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure — but the less we hold, the less there is to protect, and we hold almost nothing.

This website

This site uses no analytics, cookies, or third-party tracking.

Your controls

• Delete individual items, or clear your history, from within the app.
• Manage what syncs across your devices in your device's iCloud settings. (Being signed into iCloud is required to run reads — it's how usage is counted without an account.)
• Revoke camera or photo access anytime in your device privacy settings.

Children

Sightline is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
